Working at HD

Imagine this for a moment: You are working at a high school whose staff cares deeply about their student’s learning and their students’ faith and character development; a school where staff works to orchestrate learning experiences and where student work makes the world a better place; a school whose graduates enter the world motivated to make a positive impact and have been challenged to live out their true potential. If this exercise in imagination gets you excited, read on!

Hamilton District Christian High has been a thriving learning community in the Hamilton area since 1956. We are an independent, faith-based school that believes educating teenagers involves more than passing on information. An HDCH education is like no other; exceptional teachers investing in students make all the difference to student engagement. We want to see our students grow in competence and character, develop creativity and reflection, and critique and create a culture in all of their classes and extracurricular pursuits.

We invest heavily in our school culture. Our school climate is rooted in building positive relationships with students. Our staff holds high expectations and provides high support for all students, journeying through the high school years with them. Just ask our students – our teachers are both highly knowledgeable in their fields of study, and they support each student’s individual learning needs.

We approach classroom teaching through Project Based Learning. Students are given meaningful tasks, engage in an ongoing inquiry involving experts, apply their learning to real-world situations, and use their learning and projects to improve and bless the Greater Hamilton area and beyond. Because our learning is so closely connected to our community, we do a lot of field trips and frequently host visiting experts in many different subject areas. On top of these academic field trips, Hamilton District Christian High also has a variety of sports teams and student clubs that encourage our students and teachers to be out of the building and in the community.

Please note that HDCH is committed to fair and accessible employment practices; accommodations will be made available to applicants as required during recruitment and hiring.
